Education

Anita Haapamäki née Frommolt was born and raised in Northwestern Germany. She studied at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig with Dietmar Nawroth (solo piano) and Ulrich Urban (chamber music and song interpretation) and completed her Master of Arts degree with highest honours.

After graduating from Leipzig Anita Haapamäki continued to study with the renowned pianist Ragna Schirmer in Mannheim, complemented by further studies in chamber music with Paul Dan. The studies in Mannheim were characterised by new artistic impulses and an intensive performance training.

Anita Haapamäki also completed classes in conducting, singing and musicology in parallel to her studies in solo piano. In 2004 she received a master’s degree in solo piano with distinction from the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts.

International master courses with, among others, Volker Banfield, Renate Kretzschmar-Fischer and Bernard Ringeissen allow her to continually develop her artistic skills. Since October 2006 Anita Haapamäki is also completing a postgraduate diploma in jazz piano with Adrian Frey at the Zürich University of the Arts.
